Twitter yesterday reopened applications for the much sought after blue tick which tells others that your account is verified by the social media.
The move is much awaited after Twitter suspended such capabilities about four years ago.
While it is exciting to get that all exclusive blue tick” beside your tweet handle, it doesn’t seem as easy to do so.
Not only has Twitter put out a list of criteria’s one need to meet before one can apply for the verification, but if you don’t see yours, its likely you have not received such feature just yet, like me.
How to get twitter blue tick
Regardless, if you want to know if you can apply for the verification, the steps require you to login to your twitter desktop account, go to MORE > YOUR ACCOUNT and look out for the apply for verification button.
That said, if you are able to apply for verification, do note that there’s different types of verified categories namely Government, Companies, brands and organizations, News organizations and journalists, Entertainment, Sports and gaming, Activists, organizers, and other influential individuals.
Note that parody, newsfeed, commentary, & unofficial fan accounts, pets & fictional characters, as well as accounts associated with coordinated harmful activity/hateful content, and accounts that have violated our Platform manipulation & spam policy are not eligible for verification.
If you aren’t in any of the categories yet, like me, don’t sweat because Twitter says they do plan to introduce more categories in the future.
This means more people can get their Twitter account verified in the future, but I hope it won’t take too long for that to happen.
