Samsung has put the lid on their Tizen Store with users now not able to download or update apps from its store from 31 December last year.
This means that users using Tizen will no longer get updates while newer users will not be able to even access the store.
The ‘death’ of Tizen was expected with the Korean company terminating the service for new users in June last year. Only existing users can previously install downloaded apps, but now, the service is no longer available for all users.
Those who try visiting the Tizen Store app or website, will now be greeted with an error code on the screen.
I’m not so sure if Samsung plans to reconfigure Tizen in the near future, but their last Tizen smartphone was last released in 2017, hence perhaps signalling that Tizen will not be coming back anymore.
