Qualcomm Technologies has officially unveiled its latest premium mobile platforms, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.
This brings a new generation of AI-powered performance, gaming, photography and connectivity to flagship Android smartphones.
The two new Snapdragon platforms are designed to support the growing demand for agentic AI, delivering more personalised, adaptive and responsive experiences across everyday mobile use.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6: Maximum Performance Meets AI
Positioned as Qualcomm Technologies’ most powerful mobile platform, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is designed for the next generation of high-end Android smartphones.
The platform introduces enhanced AI capabilities aimed at making everyday smartphone experiences faster and more personalised. Its AI-powered features can adapt to users throughout the day while enabling more responsive and dependable experiences.
Gaming also receives a major upgrade through Adreno Neural Fusion, which uses AI to enhance graphics processing. Qualcomm says the technology can deliver richer visuals, more immersive gameplay and improved gaming efficiency for longer play sessions.
For mobile photography and videography, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 introduces advanced AI-powered imaging capabilities, including Advanced Professional Video (APV) support and Intelligent Pixel Control. These technologies are designed to improve scene understanding, image quality and the natural appearance of photos and videos.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Brings Flagship AI to More Devices
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is built using the same advanced 2nm process technology and features Qualcomm’s custom-built Oryon CPU, rearchitected Adreno GPU and advanced Hexagon NPU.
While positioned below the Extreme model, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 supports many of the same key AI, gaming, imaging and connectivity technologies. This allows Qualcomm to bring its latest premium mobile experiences to a wider range of flagship smartphones.
The two-platform strategy also gives smartphone manufacturers greater flexibility when developing their next-generation premium devices.
