I know that it may be just too early to talk about the best smartphones under RM1,500 with Super AMOLED display in July, but there’s no harm to do so either.
According to Samsung, “Super AMOLED is an AMOLED display that has an integrated touch function: Instead of having a layer that recognizes touch on the top of the screen, the layer is integrated into the screen itself.”
The brand also states that “Super AMOLED provides an exceptional viewing experience for you. It offers a wide range of colors with an incredible degree of color clarity which translates into far greater resolution.”
Despite Samsung being the forefront of Super AMOLED displays, the screen isn’t exclusive to them as the company also sells them to other smartphone manufacturers.
That said, here’s a list of smartphones under RM1,500 with Super AMOLED display
realme GT Neo 5G
The realme GT Neo 5G has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by a powerful MediaTek MT6893 Dimensity 1200 5G octa core processor, the GT Neo 5G features a triple rear camera set-up with a 64MP being its main camera. It comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack and a 4,500 mAh battery which supports fast charging. The GT Neo 5G retails at RM1,799, but I’ve found many below RM1,300 online.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S
Priced just under RM900, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S comes with a 6.43-inch FHD+ (1080 X 2400 pixels) Super AMOLED display which has a 60 Hz refresh rate panel. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the smartphone itself is powered by the Mediatek Helio G95 Octa-core processor. Juice is provided by a 5,000mAh battery, while a quad-rear camera set-up which is led by a 64MB main camera makes this phone a best under RM1000 price point. This is probably the cheapest Super AMOLED smartphone in this list.
Samsung Galaxy A22
Samsung Galaxy A22 is a new smartphone by Samsung which is priced at just under RM1,000 in Malaysia. It comes with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen which is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. Under the hood, it’s powered by and MediaTek Helio G80 Octa-core processor which is paired with a quad-rear camera set-up with a 48MP main camera.
realme 8 Pro
The older realme 8 Pro may not be able to match the GT Neo 5G brother, but it still boast a 6.43 Super AMOLED screen with 180Hz Touch Sampling Rate. Retailing at just RM1,299, this flahship smartphone comes with a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 720G processor, making it one of the few listed here with Snapdragon. Aside from that, it has a quad core camera set-up with a 108MP main camera which uses a Samsung sensor. Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,500mAh battery which supports fast charging.
