The OPPO Photography Awards 2026 has officially launched, creating an exciting global stage for mobile photographers and videographers to showcase their creative vision.
A major highlight of this year’s competition is the establishment of the OPPO Studio initiatives, which are designed to support and empower young creators.
Through partnerships with industry leaders like the Discovery Channel, these new creator programs aim to offer professional guidance, funding, and exclusive mentorship to aspiring storytellers.
The awards recognize that mobile imaging has evolved far beyond still photos, making it a complete medium for dynamic storytelling and cinematic expression.
This year, the OPPO Photography Awards 2026 introduces an updated lineup of six exciting categories: Me, Snap, Journey, Live, Super Zoom, and Super Video.
The newly established Super Video category is a major milestone, as it marks the first time a dedicated video category has been included in the competition’s history.
To ensure creators can share their videos at the highest quality, OPPO has partnered with Meta to optimize Instagram video sharing. Users of the latest OPPO Find X9 Ultra can now upload their videos with near-lossless quality, preserving the original footage’s brilliance.
Meanwhile, the Super Zoom category celebrates the cutting-edge telescope zoom technology found in modern smartphones.
This allows mobile photographers to capture incredible details from a distance, rivaling the optical capabilities of traditional standalone cameras.
To participate in the competition, entrants must capture their submissions using an OPPO, OnePlus, or Realme smartphone.
The technical specifications for entries are straightforward but strictly enforced. Photo submissions must retain their full EXIF data and can be saved in standard formats like JPG, PNG, HEIC, or DNG, with a minimum width of 1000 pixels.
For the Super Video category, submissions must be in MP4 format, with a duration ranging from 15 seconds to a maximum of 10 minutes.
Furthermore, the use of artificial intelligence to generate or heavily alter images and videos is strictly prohibited, ensuring that all entries reflect genuine human creativity.
With a massive $76,500 total prize pool, the competition offers substantial rewards.
The grand prize Gold Award winner will receive $20,000, while other winners will take home generous cash prizes and the latest flagship smartphones.
