WhatsApp now supports 512 people in a group

Popular messaging app, WhatsApp will now be able to support up to 512 people in a group.

This increases the limit of people able to be added into a group which was only 256 previously.

Previously, the messenger also introduced iMessage-style emoji reactions, increased its file sharing limit, new voice note features, and more.

The change for the maximum number of group participants is already rolling out under the apps latest beta update on Android, iOS, and the desktop.

Despite doubling the number of users in a group, WhatsApp‘s limit is still a far cry from Telegram’s 200,000 participant limit.

Despite that, it is still an improvement for the app, which is still very popular in Malaysia.
