OPPO Malaysia last week announced the launch of its latest Reno Series smartphone — the OPPO Reno8 Series 5G.

The Portrait Expert smartphone is equipped with OPPO’s first self-developed, dedicated imaging NPU, MariSilicon X.
This NPU is said to make the smartphone produce powerful image processing capabilities, hence delivering a series of innovative camera features to help users shoot ultra-clear portraits in even the most challenging scenarios.
The capabilities of the camera is further improved with an upgraded Dual Sony Flagship Sensors — the IMX709 for the front camera and the IMX766 for the rear camera.
The IMX709 on the Reno8 Pro 5G also supports AutoFocus on the front camera for the first time, enabling 2x zoom when taking selfies.
Aside from that, the new Reno Series also features a Streamlined Unibody Design on the Reno8 Series 5G.
On the front of the device, the Reno8 5G comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and 90Hz refresh rate that delivers buttery-smooth graphics.
Meanwhile, the Reno8 Pro 5G features a 6.7″ Ultra-Clear AMOLED display with a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio, supporting 1 billion colors, and 120Hz refresh rate for a smoother and more comfortable viewing experience with enhanced interaction.
Its’ display is also HDR10+, SGS Low Motion Blur and SGS Low Blue Light certified as well as HD & HDR certified for Amazon and Netflix.
The Reno8 5G comes with a 7.67mm in thickness and 179g in weight and is available in two trendy colors — Shimmer Gold and Shimmer Black. On the other hand, the Reno8 Pro 5G is the thinnest Reno Series smartphone to date – measuring at just 7.34 mm in thickness, and weighing just 183 g , fitting perfectly into its user’s hands. It will be available in two new stunning color finishes – Glazed Green and Glazed Black.
Under the hood, the Reno8 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 5G-integrated SoC while the Reno8 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX integrated 5G SoC.
Both smartphones come with OPPO’s proprietary super-fast 80W SUPERVOOCTM which is able to charge the devices’ 4500mAh battery to 50% in only 11 minutes.
A 5-minute charge is enough to give 2 hours of mobile gaming and the Battery Health Engine is capable of extending the battery lifespan up to 1600 charge/discharge cycles.
OPPO Reno8 Series 5G Malaysia price and availability
The Reno8 5G and Reno8 Pro 5G will be priced at RM 2,399 and RM 3,499 respectively.
Pre-orders of the OPPO Reno8 Series 5G through OPPO Malaysia began from 21st July 2022 until 29th July 2022 and those who pre-order are entitled to free gifts worth up to RM1,486.
The free gifts include an exclusive Reno8 Series giftbox worth RM 399, OPPO Care 1-Year Screen Damage Protection worth RM 199 and My OPPO Members Privilege up to RM 888.
