My first impression of the realme C67

This is my first review of a realme smartphone, and I pretty glad that it came in the form of the realme C67.

This smartphone is the first smartphone to be released by the brand after it shipped over 200 million units of smartphones globally, making the C67 a huge deal for the company.

The brand therefore isn’t holding back when it comes to making this particular C series smartphone a favourite among many as they brings 360 degrees NFC and IP54 Water resistance to this affordable smartphone.

Aside from that, the brand also included a flagship 108MP main camera with 3X in-sensor zoom, and also put in a Snapdragon 685 6nm chipset to run this 16GB Dynamic RAM smartphone.

Box and package

Anyway, as I opened the yellow realme C67 smartphone box, I was immediately greeted with the new realme slogan, ‘Make it real’.

If you hadn’t known, the C67 marks the start of realme’s new rebranding exercise which was cited in Sky Li’s recent open letter.

Digging further in, there’s a silicone case for the C67, a 33W charging block which supports SuperVOOC, a SIM tray pin, a leaflet of information, and a USB-C.

Of course, there’s also the smartphone itself, with a sticker that highlights its main features covering the 6.7-inch screen of the smartphone.

First impreession of the realme C67

The shape of the realme C67 is familiar with its flat edges and flat screen.

Despite that, it doesn’t feel out of place in my palms because it just 7.59mm slim, said to be ‘ultra slim’  by realme.

It has a 6.7-inch screen which looks rather larger than said, and a punch hole 8MP front facing camera which comes with EIS. I thought this was a nice edition especially if one likes taking vlogs like myself.

On the top chin, there’s a small hole which contains the top speakers.

The left side of the smartphone has the volume button and the side fingerprint scanner.  The location of the fingerprint scanner is just nice the C67 was held in my right palm, with my thumb used to unlock the phone.

The right side of the smartophone, there’s the SIM tray which supports two Nano SIM and one MicroSD at the same time.  With the MicroSD, you could bump up your internal storage space by an excessive 2TB of storage space.

Such massive additional storage is perfect if you do not want to rely on cloud storage which could be pricey and limited.

At the bottom chin of the smartphone, realme retains the 3.5mm audio jack, and puts the USB C port and down-firing speakers.

The inclusion of the 3.5mm audio jack means you have more options when choosing your listening devices or wearables as you can opt for either bluetooth connectivity, USB C connectivity or a traditional 3.5mm wired audio plug-in for your earphones, headphones, or external speakers.

Personally, I like having such option as it allows me flexibility espcially when I forgot my bluetooth earbuds and only have the 3.5mm headphones in my bag.

The rear of the realme C67 is pretty spectacular.

While I am not fond of the massive camera bump, realme did a good job to blend it into the Sunny Oasis colour I received.

More interestingly, the ‘Sunny Oasis’  back looks green-ish, but a hint of bright light can change how it looks entirely, showing the mix of bright textured lines and a shiney ring surrounding the camera lens at the back.

Add more light to the back, and you can see why the colour is called ‘Sunny Oasis’.  When I first realized such hues and colours, I was quite mesmerized as it looked like the sunset had just been reflected on my smartphone. Superb!

Anyway, overall, the smartphone looks great and feels great when I first used it and I am excited to take the phone for more test in coming days.

That said, you can also see my brief unboxing and personal first impression of the realme C67 in the video below.

Conclusion

Overall, the C67 looks like a very solid smartphone from realme.

Having NFC and being water resistant is a big deal for me, and that already gave a very favourable first impression to the C67.

I also liked how it felt in my hands, and how the colours of the smartphone change based on lighting to produce something like ‘a sunset hue’.

That said, I am excited to see what the C67 would bring when I do the camera test and my full review in coming days because the 108MP main camera is also said to be quite refined as compared to previous variants of the series.
