Apple iPad Air 5 to sell from RM2,699

Apple recently announced the Apple iPad Air 5 during its Apple March Event with the tablet getting major upgrades from its predecessor.

The tablet is Apple’s mid-range tablet, targeting those who would like to own an iPad, and is willing to sacrifice some premium features to own one.

Apple iPad Air 5 highlights

The new iPad Air will use the M1 chip which is also used in the iPad Pro.

In terms of design, the iPad will be very similar to the older generation it replaces, getting an 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and stereo speakers.

It will also retain Touch ID which is integrated in its power button.

Additional upgrades from its predecessor include a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with Centre Stage and support for 5G connectivity, if you opt for the WiFi + variant.

Price and availability

In Europe and the US, the new iPad Air can be pre-ordered already.

However, for the local market, there’s no mention of when it will be available although Apple Malaysia has already revealed that the WiFi only variant, with 64GB of storage will be priced at RM2,699.

The price increases with an increase to 256GB of storage, with the tablet retailing at RM3,349.

For the model which comes with both WiFi and 5G, it starts at RM3,349 for the 64GB variant and goes to RM3,999 for the 256GB variant.
