Yoodo becomes 1st MVNO with 5G access in Malaysia

Yoodo became the first mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) to roll out 5th generation wireless technology – more commonly known as 5G for all its users.

According to the company, Yoodoers with an Android 5G-supported device and subscription to 5G pass are entitled to enjoy free trials from 15th February onwards until further notice.

I was also given a Yoodo SIM today and was able to update my internet access to 5G with a simple tick.

In a nutshell, 5G allows for faster connectivity which can improve experiences when doing the following;

  • Gaming – With 5G’s faster download and upload speeds and lower latency, online gaming is set to become much more immersive and responsive. Gamers will be able to enjoy smooth, lag-free gaming experiences.
  • Live streaming – 5G’s high speeds and low latency will allow for higher quality live streaming, with smoother video and audio and less buffering. This will make it possible to watch or produce live events and streams in real-time, with a level of quality and clarity that was previously not possible.
  • Remote Work – 5G’s high speeds and reliability will allow for more seamless remote work and collaboration, enabling remote teams to work together more efficiently and effectively.

If you are on Yoodo, access the free 5G trial services by subscribing to any high-speed data plan (30 days) from 10GB to 200GB.

Yoodo’s 5G roaming service is also currently available in more than 10 countries.

As of now, 5G is available for Android devices only but Yoodo is working on offering 5G for iOS devices in the near future.
