Sony has been rather quite when it comes to smartphones but in recent months but they have been actively upgrading the ROMs of their smartphones,.
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium therefore has been announced as the latest recipient of the Android 8 Oreo update.
Previously, the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact were the first phones to be announced with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, and Sony released a fairly extensive list of phones they manufacturer able to also obtain the update.
Anyway, as of yesterday, owners of the Sony Xperia XZ Premium will be notified that their phones now have an update, with Sony introducing Android 8 Oreo to owners of the Xperia XZ Premium.
The update would come with a ‘Sony-exclusive’ 3D Creator, alongside with Predictive Capture and Autofocus Burst, two features which are highlights of the Oreo.
I’m not sure if our Malaysian friends had received their respective updates, but if the report by Android Central is to be followed, they should already be getting the notification.
