HUAWEI will be launching the Y9 Prime 2019 this 27 July 2019 for only RM899.

Visionary Pop-up Camera with High Durability

Y9 Prime 2019’s new auto pop-up camera is automatically activated when the user switches to the front camera. The pop-up camera is also designed with an intelligent protection mechanism that detects free falls and retracts the lens. If you are worried of wear and tear, note that the pop-up camera is built to raise and retract 100,000 times, more than you may need. This means retracting the camera 100 times daily will still see the phone last at least 2.7 years. The front camera can also withstand up to 15kg of soft pressing force on the front of the phone. The front 16MP pop-up camera with 1.0μm pixels and F/2.2 aperture is supported by the built-in AI feature. The camera can identify blue skies, greeneries, indoor scenes, and snowy landscapes. It can also adjust the parameters to optimize the natural lighting conditions. A total of eight scenarios are supported by the AI feature.

The Y9 PRIME 2019 Authentic Bezel-free Experience

The HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 series took a break from the conventional smartphone design. It abandons any form of notch, slider, or hole. Its 6.59-inch Ultra FullView display measures at 19.5:9 in aspect ratio.  This means you can enjoy smooth and unobstructed glass surface, taking up 91% of the front surface. The 6.59-inch negative LCD screen displays 16.7 million color gradients and boasts a wide color gamut of 85%.

The Y9 Prime 2019 comes equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery and a type-C port. The phone also retains the standard 3.5mm headset jack. It is powered by the 12nm Kirin 710F, which delivers lightning performance while consuming less power. This Kirin chipset represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor in both CPU and GPU.

The Y9 Prime boasts a 4GB RAM with 128GB ROM storage capacity.  This is more than sufficient storage for all sort of data, files, apps, photos etc. In addition, the all-new Read-Only File System, EROFS, improves data compression, preserving storage space while improving performance and speed, which has no doubt enhanced by the 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Unique Design with Premium Aesthetic

While the phone is priced affordably, the design doesn’t give such a feel.  The back cover of the phone is divided into three levels with the upper third housing the camera and fingerprint scanner. The bottom two-thirds are minimalistic, with a darker-hued backdrop set against the logo in the lower left corner and the receiver earpiece is moved to the top of the central frame.  The ambient light sensor is located at the bottom of the screen.

The HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 packs with 16MP + 8MP + 2MP triple-camera on the back. Its 16MP primary camera’s F/1.8 aperture is a top performer, receiving 50% more light than the F/2.2 aperture that is commonly seen in the market.  Also impressive is its 8MP sensor that offers a 120° field of view that fits within the frame and creates a three-dimensional effect that is even more mesmerizing due to the bezel-less display.  Last but not least, the 2MP sensor assists the primary camera in generating a lifelike depth of field in the photo, enabling SLR-quality images on a palm-sized handset.
