HONOR Magic Vs: Preview and highlights

As promised earlier, HONOR finally announced the release of the HONOR Magic Vs.

The smartphone is the next generation foldable flagship smartphone by the brand and here’s a preview of the foldable which George Zhao, CEO of HONOR Device Co, Ltd said “will deliver huge advancement, transforming how people all around the world use their smartphone.”

The company claims that the Magic Vs is currently the industry’s lightest foldable smartphone by the time of its release at just 261g weight when folded, measuring just about 12.9mm thin.

HONOR says that the super-light gearless hinge is the reason why the smartphone can be lightweight with the hinge itself able to withstand over 400,00 folds, or equal to 10 years of use.

In terms of display, the new foldable smartphone comes with a 6.45-inch display that has 21:9 aspect ratio and a 90% screen-to-body ratio.

It supports a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, delivering up to 1.07 billion colours and a screen refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

In addition, the display also comes with Circadian Night Display, which effectively minimizes the negative effects of blue light and helps users improve sleep quality.

Both screens of the Magic Vs are equipped with 1920Hz PWM Dimming technology to reduce screen flickering ensuring a comfortable viewing experience even in low-light environment.

A triple-camera system comprising a 54MP IMX800 Main Camera, a 50MP Ultra-Wide & Macro Camera and an 8MP 3X Optical Zoom Camera is also equipped with this foldable smartphone.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform processor and a 5000mAh battery that supports 66W Wired HONOR SuperCharge.

This means that the battery can be fully charged within just 46 minutes.

In terms of software, the smartphone will be running the latest MagicOS 7.0 which is based on Android 12.

HONOR Magic Vs price and Malaysia availability

There are signs that this the Magic Vs will be available in Malaysia as HONOR Malaysia does seem to be hinting just that.
