Honor has just announced it’s latest foldable smartphone, the Honor Magic V, which is the first ever foldable to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
The smartphone has a 7.9-inch main folding screen that can close flat to a 6.45-inch cover screen. This folded screen comes with 120Hz refresh rate and a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Honor has emphasised on the need to have an external screen that is equal to today’s standard smartphone, so that does separate the Magic V from the rest of the competition to date.
When unfolded, the screen increases to 7.9-inch with 90Hz refresh rate support. You get an aspect ratio of 10.3:9, with support for HDR10+ and 10bit colours, with IMAX Enhanced certification.
The camera section boast of three 50MP main camera, namely a 50MP ultrawide lens, a 50MP colour spectrum lens and a 50MP main camera.
There’s not one, but two 42MP cameras in the front screen which is nicely placed in a punch hole cutout of the main screen.
Inside, the Honor Magic V packs a 12GB RAM as standard on all variants, with stogare sizes between 256GB – 512GB.
A 4,750 mAh battery with 66W wired charging juices up the foldable smartphone with Honor’s Magic UI 6.0 used as the operating system to the smartphone.

Sales in China will begin on 18 January 2022, and there is no word if the smartphone will make its way outside of the mainland yet.
That said, we will all need to wait for Honor Malaysia to announce if this smartphone will come to Malaysia for now.
