Smartwatch maker Amazfit today announced their latest range of the Amazfit GTR 3 which features the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro and the standard Amazfit GTR, alongside the GTS 3.
The three smartwatches are the latest additions by the Chinese maker which is known for making affordable feature rich wearables.
The highlight of the two series is the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro which seems likely to match both the Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch.
Amazfit GTR 3 and GTS 3 highlights
Here, I’ll compare the GTR 3 with its predecessor GTR 2 first, and then compare the GTS 2 and GTS 3.
Amazfit GTR 3 highlights
Compared to the Amazfit GTR 2, the standard version of the Amazfit GTR 3 gets several upgrades like an AMOLED HD screen and bigger battery capacity.
In terms of design, its bezels aren’t that noticeable but it keeps the screen-to-body ratio at 66%. It does look a lot like the Amazfit GTR 2e, which is the latest GTR model prior to this GTR 3.
The GTR 3 has a physical crown on the upper button which will allow users to cycle through apps and features. This means you do can use the crown to scroll through the many options available in the watch.
The GTR 3 also has a bigger battery capacity. This brings longer battery life for the newer model of the GTR 3 series, which now gets bumped to 21 days on normal day use compared to the 14 day battery life for the GTR 2. The bigger battery also gets fully charged faster, at 2 hours.
Despite the upgrades, the GTR 3 doesn’t allow you to receive or make calls and does away with a speaker or microphone, both features available in the GTR 2.
These functions are however pushed to the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro.
All the other sensors in the GTR 2 are available in the GTR 3, with some getting version upgrades.

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro highlights
The GTR 3 Pro is the flagship smartwatch of the GTR 3 series. It has all the whistles and bells and sits almost on par with the Apple Watch and Samsung Watch.
The Pro variant gets a microphone and speaker which enables you to received and call from the watch on top of all the functions already available in the standard variant of the GTR 3.
The smartwatch also has satellite positioning based on the 5 major constellations, which increases the position lock time by 20% and increases accuracy by 40%. It also can track VO2 Max, pace compared to previous runs, full recovery time and more.
Unlike the GTR 3, the Pro variant also comes with its own 2.3GB internal storage.
It weighs only 32g and looks slightly better than then standard variant due to its narrow bezels which makes the screen-to-body ratio come at 70.6%.
These extra functions however drain the battery faster as it can only last for 12 days on normal use.

Amazfit GTS 3 highlights
I personally feel the Amazfit GTS 3 looks better on girls, but that’s just me.
The square screen is more conductive for reading notifications and using the watch apps than round screens.
Anyway, compared to the Amazfit GTS 2, the newer model gets a bigger display, bumped up from 1.65” to 1.75″, and the battery life improves to 12 days for a typical daily use.
Other functions which are similar to the GTS 2 get minor version upgrades with the GTS 3 still lacking in terms of loudspeaker and microphone availability.

Price and availability
All variants and models of the GTR 3 and GTS 3 series will go on sale in Europe starting today.
The regular models will be available for €149.99 (RM723), while the GTR 3 Pro is priced at €199.99 (RM965).
There’s no mention when it will arrive in Malaysia with Amazfit Malaysia not saying much on the new smartwatches.
Either way, you can still look for the smartwatches online as I am sure it will be brought in by some seller unofficially.
