vivo V21 5G set for Malaysia market this 27 May 2021

vivo Malaysia is set to launch the vivo V21 5G variant in Malaysia soon.

This follows news that the smartphone variant had received its SIRIM certifications under the device name V2050.

The latest variant comes after vivo successfully launched the V21 and V21e smartphones earlier in April.

Highlights of the vivo V21 5G

The V21 5G will still feature the industry-leading 44MP Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) front camera and Dual Selfie Spotlight, but it will get a boost in RAM with the smartphone being the first of the V series to carry 8+3GB Extended RAM technology.

vivo claims that this will provide users freedom of running more apps at a faster speed as it provides a temporary performance boost, which is equivalent to 11GB of RAM.

This extra boost, vivo claims, is useful for power users including mobile gamers and mobile video editors who are running several resource-intensive applications at the same time.

The rest of the package is largely the same with the former V21 variant smartphones which had already arrived in Malaysia.

There’s a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED with 90 Hz refresh rate, and a MediaTek MT6853 Dimensity 800U 5G powering the smartphone.

It boast a triple camera setup which is lead by a 64MP wide angle camera which has Image Optical Stabilization (IOS) and PDAF (Autofocus), while a 4,000 battery with 33W fast charging powers the smartphone.

Price and availability in Malaysia

So far there’s no mention of the price of the phone, but I do expect it to be slightly more expensive from the vivo V21 which is now retailed at RM1,599.

The phone will be officially launched on 27 May, so you can only expect the official price to be dropped then.

Regardless, the phone goes for about EUR 340 (RM1,699) in Europe, so expect the Malaysian pricing to linger around that too.

If you want to know how much third party sellers are selling it before the launch, you can check the phone prices in both Lazada and Shopee.
