I am personally not that excited about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but I know a lot of people are waiting in line to get their hands on the phablet which is almost bazel-less.
The 6.3-inch screen phablet was officially revealed in New York today at the Samsung Unpacked event, with the whole event live streamed on the Samsung website. The screen is the biggest ever in the Galaxy Note series.
SAMSUNG NOTE 8 DESIGN
The design of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 isn’t far from the Samsung Galaxy S8, and it shares a lot in common with with the Galaxy S8. However, true to the Note series, corners of the Note 8 are more squared, but it still looks solid and beautiful.
At the back, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 doesn’t look pretty to me. The arrangement of the dual camera in a box looks off, though I would say that the glossy back made up for the boxed camera ‘home’.
To be honest, the boxed camera area reminds me of the Sony Ericsson K series smartphones back in the 90’s.
SPECIFICATIONS OF THE SAMSUNG NOTE 8
Powered by the Exynoss 8895 octa-core processor means that the new Galaxy Note 8 is fast and amazing at multitasking.
The Galaxy Note 8 comes pre-installed with Android 7.1.1, and is powered by 6GM RAM, the highest in any of their smartphones to date. As mentioned above, the display is a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display with Quad HD+ (2960 x 1440) resolution, and internal storage options come in 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB.
In terms of security, Samsung included three biometric ways to access the phone, namely fingerprint, facial recognition, and iris sensor.
The Galaxy Note 8 comes in several colours such as Midnight Black, Orchid Grey, Maple Gold, and Deepsea Blue.
SAMSUNG NOTE 8 BATTERY
For a huge phone, the Samsung Note 8 comes with only a 3,300mAh fast charge battery. It is a bit disappointing really, but then, fast charging means you can get the phone off the hooks after less than 30 minutes.
PRICE AND WHERE TO BUY THE SAMSUNG NOTE 8
For those expecting to buy the smartphone, you might as well wait for Malaysian telcos to offer the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with contract as I do not expect the price to go easy on the wallet, especially since the current Note 7 selling at RM1,999 on Lazada.
