Redmi Buds 6 Pro: Forget the Price, These Earbuds Shine

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro came for a review about two weeks ago, and I have been using it for the two weeks as my main earbuds.

As you can see in the pictures, I obtained the Glacier White colour buds, which to me looks premium and simple.

Design & comfort

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro strike a sleek balance between modern aesthetics and ergonomic comfort.

Their glossy, pebble-shaped case feels premium (almost like Apple’s airpods), while the buds themselves nestle securely in the ear.

Multiple ear tip sizes are provided to ensure a personalized fit, minimizing fatigue during extended use.

The Buds are lightweight and though slightly protruding, it is comfortable and visually appealing.

Control & connectivity

When it comes to control and connectivity, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro deliver smooth user experience with reliable controls and robust connectivity.

Connecting the Buds is easy because it automatically syncs with any Android phone upon the opening of the case. This is perhaps thanks to Bluetooth 5.3 and the inclusion of Google Fast Pair simplifies pairing with Android devices.

On the iPhone, I did need to look it up via the Blutooth devices, but a tap would connect it instantly to the phone.

Additionally, the buds allow dual-device connectivity, enabling seamless switching between devices.

Touch controls on the earbuds are responsive, allowing for easy playback, call, and noise cancellation management.

To increase the volume, I just have to slide my fingers up and down which is very convenient. Stoping and starting play is by a single touch, and the Xiaomi Earbuds app provides further customization.

With the app, I can fine-tune controls and EQ settings to my liking.

Sound and call quality: Calling, music & movies

Considering the price, the sound quality is satisfactory in my opinion.

The 10mm dynamic drivers provide a balanced audio profile with clear mids and highs, and surprisingly punchy bass.

Active noise cancellation is available and effectively dampens ambient noise, allowing for immersive listening.

In terms of call quality, it is commendable, with clear voice transmission even in moderately noisy environments.

The sound quality of the buds may not be audiophile-grade, but it was impressive for my standards.

Battery life

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro boast impressive battery life.

Redmi says a single charge can deliver up to 9 hours of playback, and the charging case extends this to a total of 38 hours.

I’ve used it to watch my K-dramas at night (I watch one episode per night) for two weeks sinc I got it, and during this period, it hasn’t been charged just yet though the case’s LED indicator is already showing the need to plug it in.

It is a given that with ANC enabled, the playtime slightly decreases, but so far it’s still hanging in there despite my use with ANC.

Fast charging is a welcome addition, providing hours of playback with a quick top-up, making this buds a reliable choice for those lazy to charge the their ear buds and prefer lasting battery life.

Other additional features

The earbuds come with IP54 rating which makes it splash and dust resistant although such rating is not extended to the case.

It also has Find your earphones Sound locator feature which I can activate though the Xiaomi Earbuds App and has Dimentional audio which tracks head movement to enables better audio experience.

The buds also have In-Ear Detection, which means it stops playing audio when the buds are taken out of the ear, and restarts play once its back in the ear.

Price and where to buy

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro come in Space Black, Glacier White and Lavender Purple.

It’s priced at RM299 and can be bought on numerous offline and online platforms.

Online platforms include the Mi.com site as well as Xiaomi official Shopee Store.

Redmi Buds 6 Pro Review verdict

That said, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro deliver a compelling package, exceeding my expectations for their mid-range price.

It offers a comfortable, stylish design with reliable connectivity and responsive controls.

The sound quality is surprisingly robust, with effective ANC and clear call performance.

Battery life is a standout feature, providing extended playback and quick charging. For users seeking a feature-rich, long-lasting, and affordable wireless audio solution, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro is a strong contender.

I also suggest you pair this buds with the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ I just reviewed to get the best audio experience from the Buds.
