OPPO Reno7 Series 5G officially arrives in Malaysia

The latest OPPO Reno7 series smartphones — the OPPO Reno7 5G and the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G, are officially in Malaysia after OPPO Malaysia launched it today.

The smartphone highlights its outstanding camera configuration and AI-enhanced imaging features with the smartphone said to be a portrait expert capable of capturing DSLR-like portraits through features like Portrait Mode, Bokeh Flare Portrait Video, and more.

Since I’ve not highlighted what’s great about the OPPO Reno7 series 5G, here’s just those facts.

Reno7 5G highlights

First of, the Reno7 5G, which is sort of the ‘base model.

The smartphone comes with 6.4 inch AMOLED screen which has a refresh rate of 90Hz.  It is said to be equipped with SGS Eye Care Display Certified, which can help reduce eye strain during extended use.

It has a 90.8% screen ratio and a 32MP front facing camera which doesn’t have auto focus.

On the rear, the smartphone comprises of a 64MP HD main camera, a 118-degree Ultra Wide-Angle camera, and a macro camera which can focus on subjects as close as 4cm away.

The triple, high-definition camera setup consist of a 64MP HD main camera, a 118-degree Ultra Wide-Angle camera, and a macro camera which can focus on subjects as close as 4cm away.

Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G SoC processor.

This processor support both 5G and Wi-Fi 6, ensuring faster connectivity during mobile gaming. In addition to the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G, the octa-core SoC includes an ARM Cortex-A78 core operating at up to 3GHz, delivering ultimate computing power with lower power consumption.

For Malaysia, the OPPO Reno7 5G comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage with RAM Expansion technology.  This means the existing RAM can be further supplemented with an additional 2GB, 3GB, or 5GB of temporary RAM for Reno7 5G from unused ROM storage.

A 4,500 mAh battery which supports 65W SUPERVOOCTM charging, Super Power Saving Mode, and Super Nighttime Standby is also equipped with OPPO Malaysia claiming that he smartphone can be fully charged to 100% in 31 minutes.

The smartphone also comes with a brand-new ColorOS 12 and enhanced security at the operating system level.

Reno7 Pro 5G highlights

The more expensive and powerful variant of the series, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G amps up the camera system.

Compared to the base model, this Pro variant comes with impressive imaging capabilities through its Flagship Portrait Camera System.

The system comprises of a 50MP main camera powered by a flagship IMX766 sensor, alongside an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a dedicated colour temperature sensor on the rear of the device.

In front, the 32MP front camera is powered by a next generation flagship RGBW sensor — the IMX709.

This sensor has been co-developed by OPPO and Sony and it makes its world debut on the Reno7 Pro 5G.

In general, the Pro variant camera system can better any image which is taken using the base variant with OPPO highlighting its exclusive DSLR-like portrait video capabilities.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G also offers a slightly bigger AMOLED screen if compared to the base model.

This 6.5 inch Corning Gorilla Glass 5 screen has a 92.8 screen ratio and shares the same 90Hz refresh rate like the Reno7 5G.

Under the hood of this Pro variant is a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-MAX flagship-level 5G-integrated SoC which of course support both 5G and Wi-Fi 6.

The Reno7 Pro 5G comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB ROM, and like the base model, has RAM Expansion technology, the Brand-new ColorOS 12, and the same perks of a 4,500 mAh battery which supports 65W SUPERVOOCTM charging.

OPPO Malaysia is opening pre-orders of the Reno7 Series 5G from 22nd February 2022 until 4th March 2022.
