HONOR has announced the integration of new artificial intelligence (AI) feature and functionalities into its flagship smartphone, the HONOR Magic7 Pro, through a recent software update.
The enhancements focus on expanding the capabilities of the device’s Magic Portal feature and introducing a novel Near-Field Communication (NFC) door access function.
These additions are designed to provide users with increased convenience and intelligent operational capabilities.
The updated Magic Portal now incorporates seamless integration with several widely used platforms, including online travel agency Trip.com, e-commerce platform Shopee, and ride-hailing service Grab.
This expansion allows users to directly access a range of services through the Magic Portal interface.
The feature is activated via a simple knuckle circle gesture on the screen, enabling users to select text or images and drag them to the left or right edge to launch the desired integrated application.
This functionality aims to streamline multitasking across various work and personal scenarios.
Specifically, the integration with Trip.com allows users to efficiently check and book flights, accommodations, transportation, tours, and attraction tickets without the need for extensive navigation within the application.
Similarly, the Shopee integration enables users to quickly access pricing and detailed information for items viewed in other applications by utilizing the knuckle circle gesture and dragging the selection to the Shopee interface within the Magic Portal.
Furthermore, the inclusion of Grab facilitates direct ride bookings by allowing users to circle a location name and drag it to the Grab application within the Magic Portal.
In addition to the expanded Magic Portal capabilities, the software update introduces an NFC door access function.
This new feature enables users to utilize their HONOR Magic7 Pro as a digital access key for compatible entry systems, thereby eliminating the necessity of carrying physical access cards.
Users can gain entry by simply tapping their smartphone on the designated NFC reader.
It has been reported that these new Magic Portal integrations and the NFC door access function are currently exclusive to the HONOR Magic7 Pro.
However, HONOR has indicated intentions to extend the availability of these features to other devices within their product line in the future.
