vivo X80 highlights
The X80 model runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000, which is known to be powerful yet efficient.
It boast of a large X-Axis Linear Motor which supports vivo’s self-developed vibration algorithm that allows quiet but powerful scene-based vibration when gaming.
The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen comes with 120Hz refresh rate for best viewing and gaming.
Additionally, there’s a Dual Stereo Speaker in the vivo X80 to balance the smartphone’s powerful bass and improve overall sound effect, a first for an X series smartphone by vivo.
But yet, the biggest detail and main highlight of the X80 comes in the lens that’s fitted by vivo with collaboration with ZEISS.
It features a 32MP front camera and a rear camera system which consist of a 50MP Ultra-Sensing Sensor Camera, 12MP Portrait Camera, a new 12MP Wide-Angle Camera. The camera system also gets an upgrade with a new ultra-sensing IMX866 sensor.
Anyway, the camera system allows the new ZEISS Cinematic Video Bokeh feature that creates powerful, oval flare bokeh with a 2.39:1 ratio while maintaining its outstanding night scene effects through the ZEISS Superb Night Camera.
Other than that, there’s a lot of thought and technology brought into the rear three-camera system of this smartphone which vivo claims to be able to provide authentic look and feel during the night and day.
Also, there’s an exclusive Camera Panning feature that will help in video shooting.
In terms of power source, the X80 has a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charge and reverse charging. This means it can get a full charge in just 35 minutes, and charge other devices.
The X80 is available in two colours – Cosmic Black and Urban Blue.
Personal thoughts on the vivo X80
As a photography centric smartphone, I can’t complain much about the specifications of the vivo X80 which are above average for a photography camera.
All the lenses come with auto-focus and there’s also gyro-EIS which helps a lot in stabilisation.
However, the phone itself isn’t the top of the line model in the X80 series and still misses out quite a bit especially when it comes to photography and videography.
I am personally not too fond of the processor which I think is good, but not great.
Regardless, if you are looking for a powerful photography smartphone for less, this will be a good choice.
The smartphone will be made available via vivo Malaysia’s official E-store and vivo Malaysia’s official flagship store on Shopee and Lazada.
