realme just recently released the realme C100i which I had a chance to review.
The affordable smartphone with a serious battery pack has been making serious waves in the budget smartphone space and after spending some quality time with it, I think I can safely say that I completely understaand what the hype is all about.
Priced competitively, this device is designed for heavy users who demand endurance above all else, but if you want to know wether this phone suits you, then this realme C100i review, will give you my personal experience with the phone which includes breaking down everything from its massive battery to its everyday performance.

Main highlights
When exploring what the brand promotes as the main strengths of the device, it is clear that realme is positioning the C100i as the ultimate battery champion for its price segment.
The standout highlight is undeniably the massive 7000mAh Titan battery, which promises unparalleled longevity for outdoor workers and heavy consumers.
Furthermore, the brand heavily emphasizes its ArmorShell Protection and IP64 dust and water resistance, ensuring the device can withstand the unpredictable Malaysian weather.
They also tout a 120Hz Ultra Smooth Display and the promise of a 48-month fluency to keep the phone running flawlessly for years, proving that this is not just a standard entry-level package.
Does these highlights show in when I am using the phone? Well… read on.
Design, body and durability
Let’s talk about the design, body, and durability first.
As far as I am concerned, I was genuinely surprised the moment I held the realme C100i because despite housing a colossal 7000mAh battery, the phone is remarkably thin at just 8.38mm and weighs a very manageable 208g.
It feels surprisingly premium in the hand, largely thanks to the flagship-style rounded corners and the elegant, minimalistic finish available in nature-inspired Dawn Purple I had. (There is also a Dusk Gray option which would be nicer for men IMO).
In terms of durability, this phone is comes with ArmorShell Protection which allows 2-meter drop resistance. I did purposely drop the phone from a table, and despite it falling flat on its screen, the phone survived without any damage or dents. Nonetheless, I despite the ratings, I would still use the accompanying silicone case as I’d prefer avoid any accidental mishaps.
I would like to note that the back does feel plastic, but that doesn’t effect how premium the phone looks and feels.
Personally, I found the IP64 dust and water resistance incredibly reassuring, and tested it under running water. The phone stood the test and the wet hand touch feature worked flawlessly when my fingers were wet.
The way I see it, the phone’s durability would fit food delivery rider (like Grab and Food Panda) in Malaysia most as they would not need extra phone protection when using the phone on their job as it can withstand rain and dust, and can still be operated as usual when it rains.

Screen & Display
The large 6.8-inch HD+ display comes with a 120Hz Ultra Smooth refresh rate. Navigating through the interface and scrolling on social media feels incredibly fluid with minimal motion blur.
When taking the phone outdoors, the 900-nit peak brightness ensures the screen remains clear and readable even under the midday sun. For a budget device, this is considered good already as many other devices offer lower peak brightness as well as refresh rate making me struggle to see the screen under sunlight.
For food delivery riders, this is also a huge plus point as they can easily see their navigation map (like Google Maps) when riding under direct sunlight.

Additionally, the inclusion of LCD eye-comfort DC dimming effectively eliminates screen flicker, which significantly reduced my eye strain during late-night reading sessions.
Audio system
Audio performance is another area where the realme C100i punches far above its weight class.
It features a 300% UltraBoom Speaker system equipped with a specially optimized acoustic chamber.
By simply pressing the volume up button when already at full volume, the phone engages the Ultra Volume Mode, boosting the audio output to a staggering 82 decibels. That’s actually loud enough to get other riders (If you are a Grab driver) to hear your phone when on a busy street!

In my experience, this made listening to GPS navigation prompts or taking calls in noisy traffic completely effortless.
The sound cuts through ambient chaos beautifully, making it an ideal companion for riders or anyone constantly maneuvering through loud environments.
Processor, RAM & Storage
When it comes to the processor, RAM, and storage, the realme C100i handles daily tasks like messaging, web browsing, and mapping applications without breaking a sweat.
It comes equipped with an octa-core Unisoc processor and 4GB of physical RAM, but what is truly impressive is the Dynamic RAM expansion feature that can push the memory up to 18GB virtually, paired alongside 128GB of internal storage.
Comparing this to its older predecessors that often struggled with background app retention, the multitasking capability here is vastly improved. While it is not a high-end gaming beast for graphically intense titles, it absolutely delivers on realme’s 48-month fluency promise for everyday stability and light casual gaming.
Software
On the software front, the realme C100i runs on Android 16 with the custom realme UI layered on top, and it is surprisingly feature-packed.
The NEXT AI capabilities are a massive and welcome addition to the budget segment. I had a lot of fun using the AI Eraser to instantly remove photobombers from my pictures, and the AI Clear Face feature effortlessly sharpened up older, blurry photos into high-definition quality.

The interface is clean, highly intuitive, and the AI genuinely enhances the outdoor user experience by intelligently managing background connectivity.
One additional flagship feature in the phone is the AI Outdoor Mode, which enhances screen visibility and optimizes smoothness under direct sunlight. This feature allows the phone to adapt to changes when outdoors, and hence greatly improving my experience when using the phone.
It does come with a slight disadvantage in terms of battery life, but it does make things simpler when activated.
Camera
The camera setup is modest but functional, featuring an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.
For photography, the plus points are that it captures decent, well-lit shots during the day with acceptable color reproduction for social media sharing. There isn’t much I could expect with just 2x optical (and 5x digital) zoom available.
The AI editing tools really help salvage images by cleaning up backgrounds and boosting clarity after the fact, but don’t expect flagship level image sharpness from the images.
You can see samples of photos taken below.

However, the drawbacks are evident in low-light conditions; the lack of a larger imaging sensor means night shots can introduce noticeable noise and grain.
Also, if I used the zoom and pushed further than the 2X, the image does also become more grainier than expected.

For videography, the device supports standard 1080p recording. The plus point is that the footage is reliable enough for quick status updates or video calls, but the drawback is the absence of advanced optical stabilization, which means walking and recording simultaneously can result in somewhat shaky footage.
Battery
The battery is where the realme C100i completely destroys the competition. Packing a 7000mAh Titan Long-Lasting Battery, the endurance I experienced was nothing short of mind-blowing.
Realme claims it provides 21 hours of continuous online video playback or 53 hours of calling.
I do not do extensive battery testing but on my usual usage of the phone, the battery was still at 70% after my typical day use.
After two days of use, I still had about 30% left easily which meant I this phone would be perfect if I had a journey where charging the phone would be difficult. Thse includes going outdoors, hiking or short business trips where I want to just travel light.
When you do need to plug in, it provides nearly 5 hours of music playback with just a brief 5-minute charge.
But that’s not the best part yet.
What truly makes this battery special compared to other devices in the same category is the 6W reverse wired charging, which effectively turns your phone into a portable power bank capable of fully charging a friend’s phone or juicing up your wireless earbuds over ten times.

In addition to all these, realme actually promises that the battery would last for at least 6 years with over 1600+ charge cycles.
All these features put the realme C100i as not your ordinary entry level phone as realme has really redefined what ‘entry level’ standards should be espcially when talking about battery life and functionality.
Conclusion and Where to buy
Overall, my realme C100i review has proven that while the C100i is an entry level phone, it is an absolute triumph for its specific target audience which are those seeking a phone which could last uncharged for long periods of time.
It is undeniably best for gig workers, delivery riders, and anyone who spends long hours outdoors and simply cannot afford to have their phone die on them mid-shift.
It offers a premium design, rugged drop-proof durability, and an unstoppable battery at a highly accessible price point.
The realme C100i officially retails at RM599 in Malaysia and you can purchase it directly from the realme Malaysia Official Store on e-commerce platforms like Shopee and Lazada, or visit authorized realme physical retail dealers nationwide.
To score the best discounts, I highly recommend watching out for the monthly double-digit payday sales campaigns online to grab exclusive store vouchers.
