The POCO X8 has officially arrived in Malaysia, bringing a massive 8,340mAh battery, a large 6.83-inch 1.5K display, improved durability and upgraded cameras aimed at users who want long-lasting performance without constantly reaching for a charger.
Massive 8,340mAh Battery With 2-Day Endurance
The biggest highlight of the POCO X8 is its 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery, offering 63.2% more capacity than its predecessor. POCO claims the phone can deliver more than two days of battery life on a single charge.
The battery is rated to retain at least 80% capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, equivalent to around six years of regular use. It also supports 67W HyperCharge and 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the POCO X8 to function as a power bank for other devices.
The battery has also received TÃœV SÃœD 5-star Battery Performance Certification following testing in demanding temperature, mechanical stress and charging-cycle conditions.
6.83-inch 1.5K Display With 3,500 Nits Brightness
For entertainment and gaming, the POCO X8 in Malaysia features a 6.83-inch 1.5K ultra-bright display.
The panel can reach up to 3,500 nits peak brightness across 25% of the screen, making content easier to view outdoors and under direct sunlight. The display also uses a flagship-grade luminous material designed to improve brightness while maintaining power efficiency.
TÃœV Rheinland eye-care certifications are included to provide a more comfortable viewing experience during extended use.
Built For Water, Dust and Drops
POCO has also focused heavily on durability. The POCO X8 comes with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings.
It is also the first POCO smartphone to feature an Underwater Mode, allowing users to capture photos and videos in water.
The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with POCO claiming protection against direct drops of up to three metres.
Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and Xiaomi HyperOS 3
Powering the POCO X8 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, built using a 4nm process. The chipset is paired with an Adreno GPU for everyday multitasking, app launches and gaming.
The smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and includes features such as Xiaomi HyperIsland and Google Gemini. Xiaomi Offline Communication is also supported, allowing communication in areas without conventional network coverage.
The phone can additionally boost its volume by up to 300% for louder audio.
50MP OIS Camera and AI Editing
Photography is handled by a 50MP main camera with OIS and EIS, while a 16MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
POCO also includes Dual Video, allowing users to record from the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
For post-processing, the phone comes with AI-powered tools including AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Image Expansion, AI Image Enhancement and AI Beautify.
POCO X8 Price in Malaysia and Availability
The POCO X8 Malaysia is available in White, Black and Orange.
The 8GB+256GB model is priced at RM1,499, while the 12GB+256GB variant costs RM1,699 under normal pricing.
From 9 September, promotional pricing brings the 8GB+256GB model down to RM1,299, while the 12GB+256GB version is offered at RM1,499.
