PICO 4 highlights
During the launch, PICO noted that the new VR is compact and lightweight, as it weights just 295g without the strap.
This is achieved through achieved smaller and lighter lenses in the PICO 4’s Pancake Optics, hence reducing the thickness of the case to just 35.8mm.
This in turn also makes the PICO 4 the lightest VR headset ever.
The straps are adjustable straps and uses a SuperSkin fabric for the cushion lining, and there’s also anti-slip PU leather at the rear of the headset as well.
There’s four well-placed SLAM cameras around the thin frame of the HMD (head-mounted display).
These cameras allow for high-precision tracking and mapping of the surrounding environment.
Underneath the cover of the HMD hides a powerful 16MP RGB camera, which produces vivid color.
The PICO 4 is powered by the premium-tier Snapdragon® XR2 platform, boasts unmatched visual quality at 90Hz refresh rate, 4K+ screen, and 1,200 PPI.

A 5,300mAh rear-mounted battery powers the VR, and it support Qualcomm Quick Charge QC 3.0. The battery can last for three hours, enough to finish one movie.
Controllers for the VR are placed on a one-piece rotating arc column, with a cleverly placed infra-red sensors.
These controllers also supports 6DoF, allowing users to enjoy a wider degree of movement within the virtual environment, and features a HyperSense broadband motor for more realistic haptic feedback.
In terms of entertainment, the VR provides users with a diverse and inclusive library through the PICO Store. The company also says that additional titles are also available through Steam VR.
