OPPO MariSilicon X brings mobile photography to the next level

OPPO had just introduced it’s latest NPU – MariSilicon X, which is focused on real-time RAW processing possible to capture stunning 4K AI Night Video with live preview.

The new chip is said to be the best-in-class in terms of power efficiency, and will come with 20 bit ultra-high dynamic range, real-time RAW processing, and Enhanced RGBW Pro Mode.

To be honest, I am not so familiar with all the technical terms thrown out during the launch and also the press released forwarded to me, so I’ll just put it in the simplest way possible.

This MariSilicon X chip will improve your smartphones capabilities when taking Ultra HDR photos, and 4K AI HDR Night Videos because it has a dedicated DDR with extra bandwidth of up to 8.5 GB/s which will greatly minimizes delays and reduces power consumption caused by unnecessary repeated read-write cycles.

For night video taking, the chip unleashes the power of AI Noise Reduction algorithms to create clearer and sharper videos hence providing greater dynamic range and better colour reproduction in a night video.

This will be the first time 4K AI HDR Night Video capturing is made possible on an Android phones. More details on the chip can be seen in the image below.

MariSilicon X availability in Malaysia

That said, the new MariSilicon X will be available soon as with the company planning to fit the chip in it’s coming Find X smartphone which will be released in the first quarter of 2022.

Usually OPPO Malaysia will waste no time bringing in the Find X series, so we won’t need to wait that long to enjoy this new chip capabilities.
