OnePlus has finally launched the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.
The highly anticipated phone by the brand comes with improvements in the camera department, notably due to the partnership OnePlus forged with Hasselblad.
Who is Hasselblad and why is the partnership with OnePlus significant?
Victor Hasselblad AB is a Swedish manufacturer of medium format cameras, photographic equipment and image scanners which is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is known for its classic analog medium format cameras that used a waist level viewfinder.
Hasselblad is the first brand in the world to introduced the world’s first digital compact mirrorless medium format camera, the X1D-50c.
This therefore makes the partnership between OnePlus and Hasselblad a real big deal because OnePlus hasn’t been producing ground breaking camera system and capabilities of late, despite their impressive hardware attached to their phones.
Specifications of OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro
Both the two smartphone launched by OnePlus today are flagship devices of the OnePlus brand.
The key specification of the OnePlus 9 is as follows.

- Screen: 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED, 120Hz refresh rate
- Camera: 48MP (main) + 50MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (monochrome), developed with Hasselblad

On the other hand, the OnePlus 9 Pro gets additional features as you can see below.
- Processor: Snapdragon 888 5G
- Screen: 6.55-inch Full HD AMOLED , 120Hz refresh rate
- Camera: 48MP (main) + 50MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (monochrome), developed with Hasselblad
- Selfie camera: 16MP
- Battery: 4,500 mAh with WarpCharge 15W
Price and Availability
The smartphone isn’t available in Malaysia just yet, but I do think it’s just a matter of time.
Currently, OnePlus Malaysia seems more concerned about selling the OnePlus Nord M10 5G which they had just released in the country.

I bet it will only be a matter of time before the phone will be soled unofficially on either Lazada or Shopee, so do keep your eyes peeled for that.
