Nothing has unveiled its Phone (3a) series, a significant upgrade to its mid-range smartphone lineup.
The series, comprising the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, focuses on enhanced camera capabilities, performance, and user experience.
Design-wise, the new phones boast a refined aesthetic with upgraded glass back panels, improved internal symmetry, and meticulous detailing.
The trademark exposed design highlights the advanced camera systems. Notably, the series achieves an IP64 durability rating and the company’s lowest carbon footprint to date.
The camera system is a major highlight, featuring a 50MP main sensor, a Sony ultra-wide sensor, and for the first time, optical zoom.
The Phone (3a) includes a 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and up to 30x ultra zoom, while the Pro model features a periscope zoom with a Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, offering 3x optical zoom and 60x ultra zoom, and a telemacro feature.
Both models utilize TrueLens Engine 3.0 for enhanced image processing. The front cameras are also upgraded, with the Pro model featuring a 50MP sensor capable of 4K video recording with AI stabilization.
Performance is boosted by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, offering significant improvements in CPU and GPU performance compared to the Phone (2a).
AI processing is also enhanced, and features like RAM Booster provide up to 20GB of RAM. The devices include a larger vapor chamber for improved thermal management.
The Phone (3a) series features 5000mAh batteries, supporting 50W fast charging, providing a full day’s power in under 20 minutes.
The 6.77-inch displays offer a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 3000 nits peak brightness.
Nothing OS 3.1, based on Android 15, provides a customizable and smooth user experience. Updates include enhancements to the Gallery, Camera, and Weather apps.
The series also introduces Essential Space, an AI-powered hub for notes and ideas, accessible via a dedicated Essential Key. Early access to Essential Space will be available to all purchasers, with future updates planned.
Nothing also promises six years of software updates for the series.
Nothing Phone (3a) Series price and availability
The Nothing Phone (3a) comes in Black, White and Blue and is priced at RM1,699 for the 12+256GB configuration.
Meanwhile, the Phone (3a) Pro comes in Grey and Black with a 12+256GB, and is priced at RM1,999.
