Aside from announcing the new Motorola G Stylus 5G, Motorola also announced the new Motorola Moto G 5G 2022 today.
This smartphone is a successor of the Motorola G Stylus 5G which was announced back in November 2020.

Among the main highlights of the Moto G 5G 2022 is the processor, with the smartphone using MediaTeks’s Dimensity 700 SoC.
The smartphone has a 6.5″ HD+ 90Hz LCD, and it runs on Android 12-based My UX.
It comes with a single 6GB RAM + 256GB ROM memory configuration with the storage capacity able to be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.
There’s a 13MP selfie camera in front, and the rear triple camera set-up combines a 50MP main camera, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth units.
It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB=C port at the bottom.
Like the Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G 2022, this Moto G 5G 2022 comes is powered by a 5,000mAh with 10W charging support.
Opinion on the Moto G 5G 2022
In black, the Moto G looks premium enough to pass for an expensive smartphone.
However, in terms of specifications versus pricing, it is a bit behind today’s competitors, hence making it slightly less desirable.
Nonetheless, Motorola is a heavy weight in the telecommunication world, and I bet there’s enough trust in the brand for many to consider this smartphone for a purchase.
Price and availability
The Motorola Moto G 5G 2022 will be sold in the US from May 19 at a retail price of USD400 (MYR1,600).
I am sceptical the Moto G 5G 2022 will enter the Malaysian market officially, but there’s always third party sellers who can import them for you at the online malls below.
