The realme numbers series, particularly this realme 13 Pro Series is one I am very excited about because this series is meant for content creators like myself.
The bulk of the important features for this particular smartphone had been pushed to the camera, and its adaptation and implementation of AI means the phone would really be useful for content creation.
There’s two variants available under the realme 13 Pro 5G Series, namely the realme 13 Pro and the realme 13 Pro+.
realme sent me the realme 13 Pro 5G for this review, so this is my first impression of the phone, as well as my unboxing experience.
Box and package
I’ve reviewed four realme smartphones to date and the box of this realme 13 Pro is different because it has grooves to it.
This grooves, very seldom found on cheaper smartphone boxes, tell me that this is a smartphone that likely be priced above RM1,500. (The price of the realme 13 pro 5G has not been released at the time of writing).
Anyway, in the box, there’s a 45W SUPERVOOC charging block, a USB-C cable, instructions, the SIIM tray pin and a very nice dark coloured silicone case.
I’m not sure if this is standard practice by realme, or if this is the new standard by the brand, but the silicone case is realy nice.
It’s so nice, I think it should be a standard practice in all smartphones that include a case in their smartphone box.
The case doesn’t only looks great, but fits nicely and makes the realme 13 Pro 5G I received look even better.
First impression of the realme 13 Pro
The realme 13 Pro 5G itself is a looker as it is inspired by Oscar-Claude Monet, a French painter and founder of impressionism painting.
I got the Monet Purple design which realme claims ‘preserve and capture ephemeral light and shadows’ by Monet. Touching the rear feels like I’m touching art because it feels like the back is made of those painted art canvas. It’s impressive how realme managed to put so much detail to the rear of the realme 13 Pro 5G to the extend it could mimic art on a canvas.
Anyway, personally, the colour itself is a bit light for my liking, but I’m very sure those who love light coloured designs and colours would love the rear of the phone.
The rear of the smartphone doesn’t attract fingerprints despite glowing like an expensive and premium smartphone.
The round camera bump is noticeable but realme added some shiny groves to it to make it look sparkling and expensive.
In my palms, the phone’s 182.5g weight feels just right and the curve screen makes squeezing and handling the phone comfortable. Being 8.41mm thin, the phone is ‘just nice’ to handle with it having an underscreen fingerprint scanner, and three buttons on the right which can be pre-set for additional functions.
The top and bottom chin had speaker holes, and the USB-C port and SIM tray is located on the bottom chin.
Overall, except for the Monet inspired rear, the realme 13 Pro 5G doesn’t fall far from looking like any candybar smartphone.
Unboxing and first impression video
For the unboxing video this time around, I tried to do something different since I was eager to review this phone.
In the video, I showed you how I unwrapped the box, and later unboxed the phone before giving you my first impression two cents regarding the phone.
Conclusion of the realme 13 Pro first impression
Generally speaking, I think I am going to love the realme 13 Pro 5G because it does boast a very capable camera and comes with dual speakers.
My first impression of the smartphone is also very positive, loving how it feels and the detail realme incorporated into its rear design.
I will be doing more test and reviews in future days to see if this is the perfect smartphone for a content creator like myself, so do stay tuned.
