HONOR today revealed two industry leading on-device AI innovations which is created to empower individuals and introduce a new level of user safety at MWC Shanghai 2024.
HONOR made the announcement at during their keynote at the event which was titled “The Human-AI Synergy: Intelligent Devices Will Empower People Better.”
During this keynote , HONOR showcased its latest advancements in human-centric AI, AL Defocus Eye Protection and AI Deepfake Detection.
Apart from that, HONOR also reiterated its focus on human centric on-device AI and its belief in the potential for AI enabled hardware to empower users by delivering tailored services while protecting user privacy.
During the keynote, HONOR Device CEO, George Zhao said that AI is revolutionizing lives and driving the smartphone industry forward, with HONOR believing that on-device AI has the potential to empower users and become more capable in everything they do.
HONOR also introduced AI Defocus Eye Protection technology that leverages AI to simulate defocus glasses on the smart device’s display.
This technology is developed due to the global increase in cases of nearsightedness caused by long-term screen usage.
Defocus glasses intentionally induce controlled defocus in the user’s peripheral visual field to help maintain clear central vision.
This creates an altered visual perception that slows down the eye elongation process, which leads to nearsightedness.
HONOR claims that their AI Defocus Eye Protection has shown to decrease user’s transient myopia by 13 degrees after reading for 25 minutes, with some users experiencing a maximum reduction of 75 degrees.
In addtion to that, HONOR also annouced their second HONOR AI innovations, namely the AI Deepfake Detection
This AI innovation allows helps prevent fraud and detect digitally manipulated content.
