HONOR confirms its first ever foldable flip smartphone

HONOR has confirmed to launch the brand’s first foldable flip smartphone this year.

The CEO of HONOR Device Co Ltd, George Zhao, stated in an interview with CNBC that the device is now in its final stage of internal testing.

The interview was held during the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024.

According to Zhao, the move to introduce a foldable HONOR flip smartphone is in line with HONOR’s strategy to enter the premium market where it’s looking to compete with major technology industry players.

“This year we are preparing for the flip phone launch. Now, we are internally in the final stage. We are very positive about foldables for the future,” said Zhao.

HONOR recently launched the successor of the HONOR Magic Vs at MWC 2024, namely the HONOR Magic V2.

HONOR also debuted the exclusive Porsche Design edition, HONOR Magic V2 RSR at the event.

Meanwhile, Zhao added that HONOR is developing its own smart ring and this device is part of the company’s commitment to health.

“Internally, we have this kind of solution, and now we are working on that part, so in the future you can have the HONOR ring,” he futher stated.
