UGREEN has been producing and selling several very interesting and review worthy devices of late, and this UGREEN 65W USB-C GaN Nexode Air Ultra Mini Fast Charger is one I think would interest many who are looking for a charger thaat’s just nice in size, but can be used for multiple devices.
Unlike the UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W I reviewed recently, this 65W USB-C GaN Fast Charger has its perks and downside which I will elaborate here in my review.
That said, like all the reviews I do in PhoneSentral, I want to share my personal experience with this compact power block and explain why you may want to have it as the only charging block in your portable travel bag.

Design and built
Holding the charger for the first time showed how compact it is. It resembles a small, sleek cube rather than the giant rectangular bricks I am used to with my laptop.
Like most UGREEN devices, the body is covered in a matte, dark grey polycarbonate finish that feels incredibly premium to the touch and does an excellent job of resisting unsightly fingerprint smudges.
It feels solid and dense in the hand, giving off a reassuring weight that screams quality rather than cheap, hollow plastic.
Taking a look at the layout, you get a single highly accessible USB-C port above the charger with the UK plug being foldable into the charger body.
The plug doesn’t come out easily from the charger body so I do need to pry it out with some slight force though I personally felt this is good as it also presents the plug as sturdy when its out of the charger body.
When the plug is hidden in the charger body, the charger reduces its size, while at the same time protects its plug from being acidentally damaged if it fell.
Durability
A charger meant for travel needs to survive the realities of daily commuting, and I have put this unit through the my daily routine which sees me toss the charger into the bag while needing to pack my items and devices quickly.
In my bag, this doesn’t have its own compartment and gets mixed alongside keys, my massive power bank, stationaries and my digital camera. That said, you can imagine how it rubs and crashes with other items as I run to my next meeting with the bagpack.
Thanfully, the hard exterior shell has proven to be highly scratch-resistant, maintaining its clean look despite rough handling.
I have also accidentally dropped it onto hard tile flooring a couple of times, with the charger components remaining perfectly intact.
More importantly, durability also extends to thermal management with the block staying cool or reasonably warm despite hours of use.
Charging Capabilities
The real test of any charging block is how it handles charging of hardware.
When I plugged in my Acer Swift 3 Laptop using the top USB-C port, the charger seamlessly provided the 65W needed to charge the laptop just as quickly as its heavy, original power brick. UGREEN provided a nicely braided USB-C cable with the charger, and it was a great replacement for my laptop’s own charging cable as well.
Moving over to smartphones, the experience remains stellar. My iPhone 17 Pro Max registered rapid charging immediately, filling up its large battery in roughly the same time as Apple’s official fast chargers while my Android devices like the Honor Magic5 Pro and the POCO F8 Pro, also showed incredibly fast speeds.

This means that I can use this charger to enjoy fast charging with most devices which suppoprt such capabilities without needing to carry their own proprietary charging blocks which can weigh a tonne.
This indirectly takes the anxiety out of battery management completely.
Usage experience
Overall, my experience using the UGREEN 65W USB-C GaN Fast Charger has been very positive.
While I like the UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W for having a lot of USB outlets which allow me to charge multiple devices simultaneously, I love the size and weight of this UGREEN 65W USB-C GaN Fast Charger more.
The way I see it, the UGREEN Nexode Pro 100W is suitable for long travels where I can put it in my luggage bag which I only open when reaching my destination, whereas this UGREEN 65W Nexode Air Ultra Mini Charger is more practical to carry around in my backpack or laptop bag as I navigate daily life routines, or when I need a quick charge while sitting at Starbucks waiting for my next appointment.
The only drawback is that there’s not enough charging USB ports to go around with the UGREEN 65W GaN charger, so if I have more than one device to charge, I need to prioritize which gets to be plugged in first.
Nonetheless, since this is 65W fast charger, getting any device juiced up is quickly is not an issue, so it can still be considered a reliable, smart tool rather than just a basic wall plug.
