Xiaomi has officially unveiled the REDMI Note 17 Series, introducing four smartphones aimed at users looking for long battery life, durability and flagship-inspired features at a more accessible price point.
The lineup consists of the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17. The launch also marks the first appearance of a Pro Max model in the REDMI Note family.
Up to 10,000mAh Battery and 100W Charging
The biggest highlight is the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, which packs Xiaomi’s largest smartphone battery yet at 10,000mAh.
The phone supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging, while Xiaomi claims up to three days of battery life on a single charge. The device can also provide a full day of use with just 20 minutes of charging.
Other models also feature large-capacity batteries:
- REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G: 8,340mAh + 67W HyperCharge
- REDMI Note 17 5G: 7,700mAh + 45W charging
- REDMI Note 17: 7,700mAh + 45W charging
The battery system is designed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, equivalent to around six years of typical use.
Built for Long-Term Durability
Durability is another major focus of the REDMI Note 17 Series.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G and REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G have earned TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality Certification, covering drop resistance, water resistance and battery performance.
The two Pro models also feature IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection. They have passed a 2-metre, 72-hour water-resistance test and introduce an Underwater Mode.
For accidental drops, both Pro models have been tested for drops of up to three metres onto granite surfaces, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 providing additional protection against drops and scratches.
Bright 1.5K Displays
The Pro models come with 6.83-inch displays, while the REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17 feature larger 6.99-inch displays.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G and REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G offer up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, 1.5K resolution and a 3200Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, making them better suited for outdoor viewing and responsive gaming.
The Pro Max also features enhanced audio with up to a 400% volume boost.
Snapdragon Performance and AI Features
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, with support for intensive gaming, 4K content and multitasking.
Both Pro models support up to 16GB RAM through Memory Extension, while the entire series gets access to Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google. The Pro Max and Pro models additionally offer Xiaomi’s AI features for productivity, photography and creative tasks.
Camera and Video Features
The REDMI Note 17 Series is also positioned as a capable content-creation smartphone lineup.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G supports 4K 30fps video recording, while dual-video recording is available across the series. The Pro models also offer features including Professional Video mode, Live Moment and AI-powered photo editing tools.
REDMI Note 17 Series Malaysia Pre-Orders
For Malaysia, Xiaomi is offering pre-orders for the REDMI Note 17 Series 27 August until 4 September 2026 at Xiaomi Stores, with online pre-orders available from 2 to 4 September through Xiaomi’s official online channels.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is offered in Cloud Blush, Purple and Black, with 8GB+256GB and 8GB+512GB configurations. Its pre-order promotion includes an RM300 discount for selected slots and free gifts including REDMI Headphones Neo and Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active.
The Pro Max also comes with extended warranty coverage, including a five-year battery warranty, three-year screen protection and two-year coverage for liquid damage, back cover and quality issues.
