New Facebook layout set to be default this September

If you are like me, trying your best to stay on the classic white multiple frame Facebook design, then time is running out.

The social media giant has made it known through its support pages that that the classic look of Facebook will be changed to the new web design come September, and there’s no way to revert back to the old look.

As a matter of fact, if you change your layout to the new layout, and than decide to revert back to the ‘classic’ layout, Facebook will warn you about the imminent change as seen below.

Facebook warning about the imminent change.

Currently, users like myself are given the choice to choose between the two.

The new Facebook layout isn’t really that bad.

In my opinion, the inclusion of a lot of white space in the new look makes Facebook look cleaner, but it doe feels rather ‘twitter-ish’.

I have since opted for the “classic” design because I don’t receive change that well, especially when it comes to social media.

Regardless, changing to the new Facebook does give some bonuses such as the availability of a dark mode, which is better for the eye, and is said to conserve power.

The new skin also gives more prominence to Facebook’s Groups, Watch and and Gaming sections, which makes videos more visible, if you are into that sort of things.

But regardless, 1st September is the day everyone needs to adapt to the new layout.

With that in mind, if you are like me, needing time to adapt to change, then it’s time to flip that switch to the new look.

The tutorial to do so is seen below.
